New block print notecards!
I’m SUPER EXCITED that printmaking season has started at my studio!
Here is my first group of linocut notecards:
The art is 6″x4.5″ printed on a 7×5″ notecard. The notecard is made from acid-free, heavyweight paper made with 100% post consumer recycled materials. The ink is made in Chicago, the paper made in Michigan (both about 5 hours from my studio). An envelope is included-so you can share my art by mail to your friends and family!!
These are a hand made products made by me in Old Washington, Kentucky. The designs are hand carved, inked by hand, then put through a hand cranked press. No computers or electricity involved.you can see more of my printmaking work by clicking PRINTMAKING at the menu at the top of this page.
Thanks everyone for your support!
Kiln Firing 6 February 2022
I just opened the kiln–i had some wonderful goodies, like these little cream pitchers. I don’t know why they got me so excited, but they sure are cute!
Another exciting thing is that I’ve ben experimenting with greens, and have some new results.
Here’s a gallery that shows EVERYTHING that was in today’s firing.

Work In Progress-Fox In The Snow Porcelain bowl
the carving is done, now i just have to let it dry, put a clear glaze on it. It’ll go through the kiln twice, and if all goes well, this little fox bowl will be able to serve your morning oatmeal or soup, or whatever warms you up on these cold winter days!
stay tuned to see how it turns out!
Introducing GRETA!
I’m really excited to introduce you all to the latest member of my clay studio: Greta!!!!
Feels Good To Be Back
Feels good to be back at the Pendleton Art Center! If you are going to be in the downtown Cincinnati area between now and 4pm, you are welcome to stop by! I’m on the 4the floor.
Kiln Opening 20 January 2022-first fire of the year!
If today’s kiln opening (the first of 2022) is any indicator of what the new year is going to bring-it’s going to be a great year!!!
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so I made plenty of red and love themed pots. They would make the perfect gift for that special someone who appreciates a hard carved one of a kind work of art that can be used everyday to eat or drink.

I don’t ship or sell online. Pottery should be seen (and picked up) in person before you can truly know if it’s ‘the one’ for you. Come visit my porch in Old Washington, Kentucky to see them in person!
All pots are porcelain. They are lead free, food safe, and can be used in the microwave
Prices for your reference:
Cups or side plates$40
Spice Jar $60
Plates $100Update:
As an artist, sometimes there’s a conflict between my creative ideas and REALITY. I’ve had to accept that the front porch idea loses its charm in winter. It’s too cold, and I don’t feel right encouraging people to take an unnecessary long drive in the country during winter.
HERES MY NEW PLAN: The porch will be open over the weekend, but after that, I’m bringing all the pottery to my studio at the Pendleton Art Center Cincinnati. I’ll be there once a week (still deciding the date-probably Wednesdays – what week day works for you?), you’ll be able to visit and take your time while looking at the different pots (and other art) in a heated space.
Sorry for the abrupt pivot, and hope to see you soon!!!
Fox Jar – Sneak Peek – 15 January 2022
Here’s a sneak peek at another clay work in progress. It’s a porcelain lidded jar.
The carving is all finished. if it makes it though the kiln firings *fingers crossed*, it will be bright red and black on porcelain. Would make a great container for salt, sugar, relish, mustard, honey, etc.
Stay tuned to see how it turns out!
Cardinal Greenware Jar
Earlier today, i did a live stream on facebook, where i carved this jar. It went over an hour, and I had to take a break without finishing the carving.
It still needs to be fired and glazed, but here is the finished carving for those who wanted to see how it turned out.
Thanks everyone who was able to tune in and hang out in the studio earlier today.
Stay tuned to see how it turns out. The finished pot will be translucent white porcelain with bright red designs.
Multi-screen throwing pottery
I tried something a little different during today’s facebook live stream: multi cameras
The LIVE stream had two cameras at once-one side view, one overhead view. Hopefully watching the two different angles help get an idea of what the hands are doing when i throw pottery on the wheel.
Here’s a sped up playback of one of the pots I threw, to give you an idea of what it looked like.
Thanks again to those who joined me during the live stream!
