Spent the day carving a new woodcut at the log cabin print shop. Its going to be a 2 color/block print. Im 70% finished with the first block. hope to finish it and print next saturday

Final Friday Studio Walkthrough – April 2019

Here’s a quick walkthrough of the studio for those who can’t make it to final friday tonight at the pendleton art center. We’re open to the public today from 6-10 pm. There are about 200 artists on the campus. Its a free event, with $5 valet parking for those who want to get out at the door

The walcott covered bridge bracken county kentucky

Today i have been painting some of my neighborhood’s covered bridges, and sharing the process in my ‘story’.
There is no cell service at the walcott covered bridge (not too many places like that anymore) so here’s a snapshot of the work in progress.

Plein Air Painting with Kay Schafer in Maysville, KY

My friend and artist, Kay Schafer asked if I could show her a few of my favorite painting spots in Maysville. We decided to make a painting day out of it!

Thought id start the morning painting this scene…ive never painted this church before, and the light is nice.

decided to paint maysville from the ohio side. Thought it would be landscape orientation, but after sketching, it told me that it wanted to be vertical
values and composition worked out. I sure wish a boat would go by…

Today was a hot one, but i got this great little painting of our opera house, now the home of our local theater, the maysville players.

Painting at Pine Mountian State Park
Some views are too big for just one 6×4 1/2″ panel. The overlook at pine mountain state park
after spending time up on the mountaintop. I balanced it out with some time by the creek

Painting White Houses around Mason County, KY
